Operation: Weightloss is going well. I'm down 15 pounds from my max, eating under my target every day, and haven't had any alcohol in 20 days. Losing ~1.5 pounds a week.
For the first time since COVID started, I went out tonight to a bar. With a friend. Without masks. Without this giant weight of worry on top of me. It was really, really good.
Tomorrow we head to the mountains of western NC for vacation. My mistake was not moving there to begin with. I've lived on flat land for too long.
I've been looking into doing a water fast. Can't do it quite yet as we're traveling next week, but will look to do a 24 hour one the week of July 12. I'll prep a few days before, then do a full day water fast, then recover for 2-3 days. I'm interested to try this.
Did my first FTP Test Ride today on Peloton, with an average of 144W for the 20 minutes. This is meaningful progress for me, as at the beginning of the year I could only hold 150W for 90 seconds or so before having to slow back down.
Set up a schedule with a personal trainer today. Tomorrow I start logging everything into MyFitnessPal and being honest with myself about what it takes to get to an ideal weight. Target is to lose 30 pounds by December 19, the day we leave for a Disney cruise.
Glue makes me feel like I get a chance to start over. My goal for glue is to strike a positive, optimistic tone, free of politics, hate, sniping, subtweeting, memes, etc. Let's be better here.
The brown grass is gone and we're in full-on summer mode here in Holly Springs, NC. This is the pond up the hill from our house.
