Hello everyone! We've finished up our first month in beta and based on the feedback from our early users, we have an exciting...
I guess with regards to ads, you could look into Carbon ads? They seem unobtrusive
Thankfully my wife's Apple Pencil was still under warranty and got it replaced due to a faulty battery.
It looks like there is no way to replace the battery in them. In fact I don't think you can even get inside of the pencil without destroying it. Are they supposed to be disposable? ๐คฏ
Blah! No way!? I was looking at setting up my wife with an iPad Air and Apple Pencil combo for her lab work. Not stoked though to hear if the pencil breaks you have to buy a whole new one.
I originally looked for something more lightweight than ES, but all the ones I tried did not have the features or maturity of ES.
ES is a beast, from features to resource usage BUT it works the best I've seen so far and can scale from 5k to 5 billion+ docs just by sharding.
Sweet! good to know, scalability is what I'm looking for :)
How are you finding it? Iโm running a WP site with 5k+ pages and am looking for a nice search engine.
Iโm looking for a web scraper that can handle around 5k worth of pages, curious as to whatโs this is about ๐
Wow why have I never seen this! Thanks for sharing ๐
No worries mate ๐ Affinity is great, Iโve mostly replaced Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. And they open Adobe file formats!
I'll give it a try! That would def save on Adobe CC subscriptions for my wife who uses photoshop and illustrator, which are separate subscriptions!
Totally! Also if you or your wife are looking for alternatives for the Adobe suite, it's worth checking out the Affinity lineup: affinity.serif.com/en-us/ - no subs :)
I havenโt used Figma yet, still in photoshop and sketch but maybe itโs time to give it a try ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Do it, I went all in on Figma this year (previously Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, etc). Figma is fantastic for UI design.
Yeah +1! Rich links would be nice. Agreed on tracking too, I'm curious how each service enables that.
I know for generic links posted on Twitter, it looks for specific Twitter meta tags for title, snippet, featured image.
I've got it marked down for feature request! ๐
Brilliant! Yeah I could imagine this might be a tricky thing to implement in the privacy respecting way. But I'll just put ideas up here and you're free to do with them what you want :)
Great! What would be a good price range for this you think?
It really depends on feature set when it comes to launch. As it is today with a little more polish, I'd be happy paying $5 a month.
Working on a paid acct which would give extra features (stats on your Drops, more blog features, custom domain, etc)
I want to make sure Glue always has a free option to ensure everyone can use it, regardless of their economic position
I'll put out a blog post to outline privacy in more detail too
Beautiful! This is really good to hear and having paid accounts (fair pricing please :)) is smart, hopefully they could help cover some/all costs?
I just signed up and I LOVE the super clean UI! Just beautiful! I'm missing your stance on the privacy topic, because I think it is the one topic/feature that drives people away from other networks. What's your business model? I hope it's not ads/tracking like nearly all others.
P.S. beautiful photo, I love photography of clouds / storms
Your photos are up on the popular tab too with some upvotes ๐
cool! I'll load in a few more!
I noticed that if I try to upload large images (30mb), either nothing happens or I have no idea if something is happening because there is no progress of upload shown.
Maybe outsource image processing to Cloudinary or the like? Again just trying to be helpful :)
Welcome to Glue! Image previews have a fixed height in the timeline view but when you click a drop the main view will show it full height...
Iโm also working on a click to view full size option too ๐ท
Ah yes makes total sense :) As a frontend dev/designer I was having a poke around.
Maybe some provision for landscape vs portrait images could be implemented?
