I’ve read moderation on those platforms has false positives regularly, is that the case you see too?
Something like that hadn't happened to me in a long time. So I wouldn't say regularly for me. But I don't know about other people's experience.
Hello everyone ! Been a while I haven't been here !
same. Must try to spread the word to get more people on here for more activity.
My laptop, which I have almost 3 years now, takes a while to power up, the battery won't charge and the keyboard won't function. It'll stay on plugged in and I'm using my PC keyboard in a USB slot to type. I'll compare the price to repair with getting a new one to see if it's worth repairing.
Update: the laptop will charge but the keyboard won't work but I have an old usb connected keyboard that I can use with the laptop instead of sharing my PC keyboard.
Awh yizz, awesome. Sounds like a setup for a reasonable IT-person. Fingers crossed although SSD failures tend to be fatal in pretty much every occasion.
The SSD will be replaced under manufacturer's warranty so the PC should be going again once I get that.
Oh fook, are you able to get the stuff out of the failed drive?
The important stuff is backed up to one drive and Google drive and I'm hoping the failure of the SSD won't affect the files I've stored on the HDD. I can redo those though, if I lose them.
Computer froze while browsing the Internet Wednesday evening. After a while it rebooted and this happened. I checked for loose HD connections yesterday (happened before with the RAM chips), then booted into BIOS but I don't know anything about that except everything seemed to be working there.
Update: I contacted the builders of the PC and they advised me to enter BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults, then reseat M.2 SSD. Still the same after that so it looks like the drive failed. Might be able to get it replaced under warranty.
FIN early adopters are all fired up of Threads. We'll see how it turns out in couple of weeks (if it has appeal) and months (if they form a habit).
They have an advantage in that you can automatically follow who you're following on instagram when they have a threads account. People like convenience. I've been telling people about glue since I joined but I can't get people to come over to it.
Yeah it's something I'd like to add in some way, for sure for blog Drops and probably some sort of time based edit for normal Drops
Thanks for the input! 🤠
I like the idea of a time based edit for normal drops.
How do I find people on here? lol
I've been picking people to follow at random as they popped up but hopefully, as this platform grows, I'll have a better tactic. Is it ok for me to follow you?
Check out our new UI refresh! ⚡️
✓ Improved photo viewing
✓ Easier navigation
✓ Improved threading readability

Cool. Always good to make things easy
Haven't checked it out yet, I actually don't even have an Instagram or Facebook account 😉
What features are missing?
I think this is the ideal replacement for twitter. It's similar to how the twitter I used to love used to be. It just doesn't have the traction yet. I keep telling people about it but I don't see anyone I know or celebrities I follow giving it the chance it deserves. I have instagram but not threads
Cute!
I'm using the Brave browser on Windows 11, so your website isn't like full screen in the browser, everything on the site is centered with a lot of white space around my profile and newsfeed.
Same on chrome. But that format will work on a mobile app if/when we get one
Who’s twitter’s new ceo? wrong answers only
Montgomery Burns
I can also see the case where it’s helpful to have content suggested or “algorithms” doing some help, but as an accessory and not driving the main timeline feed
I’m curious to know what is a good balance for each
I can't give you a definite answer as to what's a good balance because I think it depends on preference and activity levels. I'm the type who selected carefully who I followed on twitter. There are some people who click follow to anyone (not, semi and fully) famous that interacts with them, I find.
Good to know. Thanks
Quotes from the movie "Jobs"
You’ve gotta have a problem you want to solve, a wrong that you wanna right and it’s gotta be something you're passionate about otherwise you won’t have the perseverance to get you through
We can’t look at the competition and say we’re gonna do it better, we have to look at the competition and say we’re gonna do it different
— Jobs movie (2013)
Twitter has a good ad setup, in my opinion, in that ads don't interfere with the overall aesthetic of the feed and you have the "I don't like this ad" option for ones you really don't want to see again. So something similar to that model could be good here.
Happy new year Glue! Yeah, a bit late, I know. The plan for this year is to properly relearn the guitar, document the process in a series of videos and upload them to youtube as I go along. If others want to learn along with me from the videos it might be the incentive I need to keep going.
Big life update. Moved from India 🇮🇳 to Canada 🇨🇦 for my new job.
best of luck with that
I was tempted to get one when they first came out but I was saving for something else at the time. I started my smartphone journey with android a few years later so never did go to iphone.
