Building an Ark
The nice guy that finished first, founder of Glue / Ark and previously Twitpic.
Agreed. I lived down the road from this one for years. Was kinda sad when they finally tore it down.
Aww yeah, I know it's probably a lost cause to restore them, but wish we could keep them around
Maybe enlarge pictures on click before videos?
You're right, that is needed! Thanks for the reminder, putting that down on my todo list 👍
When will signups be back for @pingly? Keen to test it out 😁
Hopefully soon! I don't have an ETA yet, but have a revamp planned 👍
Congratulations! Yoohoo!
I appreciate it!
Ah yeah, I've seen that before. I believe it's due to a really long string that's not truncated for viewing in an email.
But just to be sure, what width is your computer screen?
Congrats!
Thanks David!
Welcome to Glue! 👋
I deactivated my twitter account and uninstalled the app from my PC and phone. Since they put in that algorithm-based "for you" feed the regular feed doesn't refresh properly. I just want to scroll through all tweets from who I follow and have the freedom to choose what I read and scroll past.
I can also see the case where it’s helpful to have content suggested or “algorithms” doing some help, but as an accessory and not driving the main timeline feed
I’m curious to know what is a good balance for each

Yeah I’m not digging that “For you” feed either. My guess it drives more engagement vs the “Following” feed
It’s a by-product of ad based revenue that needs as much engagement as possible
I’d like Glue never have to get into ads or where they don’t drive the design of things preferably
F150, are we? ;)
it was an F250 Super Duty with an 8ft bed, it is huge! Also a very nice truck 🤠
I like the Android Auto update. The blocks shift around automatically to show stuff like incoming texts, suggested destinations, etc.
Content blocks look good, reminds me of CarPlay
Throwback Thursday: 15 years ago I worked on the team at UPS that worked events like the Belmont horse race in NY, where we sponsored a horse called "Big Brown." Can't believe it's been 15 years.
Cool history! What was your role at UPS? Logistics are fascinating to me
Was that with Apple? I've had better luck with trade-in programs. I traded in a Pixel 5 for a new Pixel 7 from AT&T bc they had a program that allowed almost any trade-in. So my Pixel 6 was worth more so kept it & wanted to sell it. Then I got lazy & decided to try GadgetPickup.
Yeah this was through Apple's trade-in process
@noah I think you should more hover tooltips for icons. I finally landed here and I think some icons need more understanding :)
Good feedback, will put that down on todo list, thank you! 👍
I'm such a sucker for these trade-in companies. I've used 3-4 of them now & they all get me in at one price & then change the price when they get my phone. Even though I've never used any phone w/o a case & they never have any scratches.
I just did an Apple trade-in on an iPhone 12 and the screen had a few scratches on it but they gave full quoted value...first time doing a mail-in trade
I went on twitter at the weekend and noticed a big change. A new "for you" feed opens as the default when you go on the app now. T
Great post 👍 and yes to confirm @Glue does not use an algorithm for the "Activity" feed. It's purely time based and only those you follow. Now, we may have an algorithm option in the future, but you'll be able to choose which to use
I started to use Glue today.
Welcome to Glue! 👋
What is up with that impulse where I look at the last empty RAM slot in my Plex server & think, "Don't need any more RAM but since the price is cheap right now guess I'll pick up a stick." Pull the trigger - again with no real need. And then spend the next 3 days anxiously checking shipping details.
In boating they call that "one-footitus" where you always want a boat with an extra foot or two...
Same with RAM, could always use more 😉
Happy new year Glue! Yeah, a bit late, I know. The plan for this year is to properly relearn the guitar, document the process in a series of videos and upload them to youtube as I go along. If others want to learn along with me from the videos it might be the incentive I need to keep going.
I'm curious! Let me know when you post one 👍
Really digging Tulsa King. Bummed that next episode is the season finale. Glad there are a lot of good shows on these days because all these shows with 8-10 episode seasons and a year or more between seasons is a killer.
I haven't watched it yet, but I lived in the Tulsa, OK area for 15+ years so I probably should 😃
